JI’s Hafiz Naeem declared victor from PS-129 after giving up seat over ‘rigging’

The Election Fee of Pakistan (ECP) Monday issued a victory notification of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi chapter Emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman after he submitted his election-related bills to the electoral watchdog.

As per the ECP’s notification, Naeem emerged as a victorious candidate with 26,296 votes within the PS-129 Karachi constituency.

The ECP sources mentioned that the victory notification was issued after the JI chief submitted Kind C to the election watchdog.

In response to the election legal guidelines, all of the contesting candidates are certain to submit the return of their election bills on Kind C inside thirty days of the publication of the title of the returned candidates.

“The return of election bills of the returned candidate and a contesting candidate shall be submitted to the Returning Officer on Kind C.”

In February, Naeem introduced he can be relinquishing his provincial meeting seat, PS-129, from Karachi claiming he didn’t win the seat fairly it was the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) backed candidate who  received the seat.

Addressing a press convention, Naeem had claimed that his PTI-backed opponent received the seat and he doesn’t need a “charity” seat.

The JI chief had mentioned he was returning the seat, however would proceed the authorized and political battle to reclaim all of the seats that his social gathering misplaced resulting from rigging.
