2 Consumers Allege Falling Sick After Consuming Food From Noidas McDonalds, Theobroma; FDA Collects Samples


Noida (Uttar Pradesh): The Meals Security and Drug Administration Division (FDA) officers collected samples from an outlet of McDonald’s in Noida Sector 18 and Theobroma bakery in Sector 104 following a grievance by a shopper who fell sick allegedly after consuming meals objects from these retailers, officers mentioned on Monday.

The complaints have been lodged with the Meals Security Join portal of the Meals Security and Requirements Authority of India (FSSAI), officers mentioned.

In accordance with officers, the grievance towards the McDonald’s outlet in Noida Sector 18 is {that a} shopper fell sick after consuming a burger and french fries from the outlet.

Following the grievance, a group of the Meals Security and Drug Administration (FDA), Gautam Buddh Nagar, instantly took motion and visited McDonald’s at Noida Sector 18 to gather the samples.

“We received a grievance on the portal towards McDonald’s. The shopper fell sick after consuming aloo tikki and french fries. We’ve got taken motion on this regard and brought samples of palm oil, cheese, and mayonnaise…,” mentioned Archana Dheeran, Assistant Commissioner (Meals) FDA, Gautam Buddh Nagar.

Within the second incident, a girl fell sick after consuming a stale cake ordered from Theobroma bakery in Noida Sector 104. Following the grievance, an FDA group collected samples of the cake after receiving the grievance.

“In one other case, a grievance got here towards Theobroma bakery the place somebody fell sick (in Noida) after consuming stale cake from the bakery…We took a pattern of the pineapple cake and despatched it to the laboratory…If the product fails within the report, then a case will likely be registered,” Dheeran mentioned.

She added that the report is anticipated to return inside a month, and if samples fail within the report, then additional plan of action will likely be taken, and a case will likely be registered.
