Dublin’s lord mayor, Daithí de Róiste, mentioned he hoped his residents would “prolong an Irish welcome and kindness to cities everywhere in the world.”

Nevertheless, whereas some charming interactions resulted from the portal, together with a mother-daughter reunion and cross-continental dance-offs, a number of folks carried out inappropriate acts and displayed swastikas.

Based on CNN, the Dublin portal has been briefly shut down after the Dublin metropolis council introduced it could be making modifications to the portal to fight unhealthy behaviour.

The New York-Dublin connection was the second set of portals to be constructed. 

The primary two have been unveiled in Could 2021, linking the cities of Vilnius, Lithuania, and Lublin, Poland.
